Tundra Dogs

This series of paintings started after a visit to Iqaluit. The dog was an important part of the Inuit family and also my family. My grandfather hitched dogs to cart and sleigh, told them to fetch cows , expected them to be loyal and on guard. Here is a  family photos with Arthur holding the farm dog

Qajaq , a husky with a signature thrice corkscrew tail was born in Iglulik but hopped on a plane to live in Iqaluit and then headed south.
